As a disease awareness activity, 840 EASD delegates and citizens of Stockholm participated in the 5K@EASD. Hosted at the home of the 1912 Olympic Games, Stockholm Olympiastadion, the 5K@EASD was a main attraction of the 51st EASD Annual Meeting in 2015.
The Peru Project
Participants at this year's edition of the 5K@EASD in Stockholm raised €9,340 through the purchase of runner shirts. 100% of the proceeds from runner shirt sales will directly benefit the World Diabetes Foundation project "Creating Basic Care Units for Diabetes Care in Peru." This program aims to raise awareness about diabetes and its prevention, improve diabetes care, and prevent and treat foot complications.
